
Rebuilding local coffee buzz to drive commuter foot traffic
Philz Coffee, a West Coast coffee brand known for high-quality coffee and good vibes, expanded into Chicago with six new stores in late 2019 and early 2020. The pandemic disrupted early momentum right as the brand entered the market.

They needed to build awareness for six Chicago locations and increase foot traffic. After the pandemic stalled the launch, Philz wasn’t seeing the buzz—or sales—they’d hoped for.


Most locations sat just a few blocks from train stations, making everyday commuters the most natural audience to reach.
Solution
We launched an out-of-home campaign using displays placed around Chicago train stations to meet commuters on their way to work. Creative highlighted Philz’s unique product offering and stellar customer service.

The campaign helped Philz break through in Chicago, quickly translating renewed awareness into real store performance.
